Level II Fieldwork- Physical Conditions: Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital
Location: Lexington, KY
Date: August 2023- November 2023
Setting: Sub-acute rehabilitation
Population Diagnoses: Joint replacement, bone fracture, back surgery, coronary artery bypass graft, stroke, amputation, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic kidney disease, lymphedema, rapid cognitive decline, spinal cord injury, and more
Evaluations: Grip strength testing, manual muscle testing, and occupational profile
Interventions: theraputty, pain management, medication management, tabletop activities/games, upper extremity strengthening, adaptive equipment use, lymphedema management, care plans, discharge planning groups, fall prevention bingo, standing tolerance, and education regarding precautions following surgery
Level II Fieldwork- Psychosocial Conditions: Origami Rehabilitation
Location: Mason, MI
Date: May 2023- July 2023
Setting: Outpatient Neurorehabilitation
Population Diagnoses: Stroke, hemiplegia, convergence insufficiency, presbyopia, esotropia, deficient saccadic eye movement, deficient smooth pursuits, generalized muscle weakness, lack of coordination, concussion, traumatic brain injury, and more
Evaluations: Developmental Test of Visual Perception (DTVP), Symbol Digit Modalities Test (SDMT), Quick DASH, Saint Louis University Mental Status (SLUMS), 9 Hole Peg Test, trail making, clock drawing, vision screen, grip and pinch testing, and manual muscle testing
Interventions: vision equipment (vectogram, +/- accommodation flippers, aperture ruler, Marsden ball, Brock bead string, saccadic sticks, Vision Coach), financial management, cooking, medication management, tabletop activities/games, upper extremity strengthening, fine motor coordination, eye hand coordination, pre-driving assessment/driving simulator, and emergency management​
Level I Fieldwork- Psychosocial Conditions: Crawford AuSable School District
Location: Grayling, MI
Date: September 2022- December 2022
Setting: Elementary, Middle, and High School
Population Diagnoses: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cognitively Impaired, Early Childhood Developmental Delay, Learning Disability, Emotionally Impaired, Speech and Language Impairment, Otherwise Health Impaired, Physically Impaired, and Severe Multiple Impairment
Evaluations: Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Miller Function and Participation Scales, and Sensory Processing Measure
Interventions: activities of daily living retraining, self-care, therapeutic exercise, Handwriting Without Tears, visual motor skills, visual perception, fine and gross motor skills, coping, and sensorimotor processing
Level I Fieldwork- Physical Conditions: Henry Ford Jackson Hospital
Location: Jackson, MI
Date: January 2022- April 2022
Setting: Acute Care
Population Diagnoses: COVID-19, fractures, joint replacements, syncope, dementia, Congestive Heart Failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, shortness of breath, metabolic encephalopathy, and stroke
Evaluations: home evaluation interviews, range of motion, grip strength, activities of daily living, and prior level of functioning assessments
Interventions: activities of daily living, transfers, range of motion, strength, educating on fall risk

SOTA Conferences
I attended two SOTA conferences that were hosted at Saginaw Valley State University. By attending these conferences, I was able to increase my knowledge about the occupational therapy profession.
Mega Simulations- Interprofessional Education
I participated in many mega simulations throughout my college career. I got the opportunity to collaborate with other students in the following fields: occupational therapy, rehabilitation medicine, athletic training, nursing, social work, and kinesiology.

Pi Theta Epsilon Service Learning
As a part of being a member of Pi Theta Epsilon, I got the opportunity to participate in service learning opportunities. These allowed me to participate in volunteering activities revolving around occupational therapy.

Work Hardening
In November of 2021, I was able to attend Mid-Michigan Health Services to advance my knowledge about work hardening programs.
In October 2022, I participated in an educational in-service focused on Lymphedema management.

Home Evaluation
In October 2022, I attended a poverty simulation where I got to experience what it feels like to live in poverty. I think this experience helped me to better understand this population and have a greater sense of empathy.


In April 2022, I attended the annual Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) Conference, where I was able to learn more about the occupational therapy profession from a variety of clinicians.

In February of 2023, I worked in a small group to complete a home evaluation. I also was able to try out some different lifts and adaptive equipment to enhance my knowledge on these subjects.
Recovery and Incarceration
Between January and April of 2023, I was able to complete my service learning project at a home for individuals who are in recovery or who have recently left jail. I got to learn a lot about what their experiences meant to them and how to lead group sessions that would benefit their own lives.

Aquatic Therapy
In March of 2023, I participated in a 3-hour educational in-service focused on aquatic therapy in both a classroom setting and in the pool for application.



Human Trafficking for Healthcare Providers
In April of 2023, I attended a Human Trafficking for Healthcare Providers presentation at the annual SOTA Conference.
